Benefits of Membership

  • Recruitment of graduate students admitted to the IOB graduate program (to be instituted soon)
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other IOB members for large bioinformatics grant applications
  • Opportunity to host IOB summer faculty members visiting from other institutions
  • Access to the IOB linux cluster (~180 cpus) for bioinformatics computational work
  • Receipt of the IOB (bi-weekly) seminar anouncements
  • Receipt of IOB news letters

Becoming a Member of the IOB

There are three levels of membership in the IOB:
  • Full membership will be limited to tenure-track/tenured faculty members who have an interest in bioinformatics research & application and bioinformatics instruction, and will actively participate in IOB activities, including grant application, instruction and committee work.
  • Associate membership is extended to tenure-track or non-tenure-track faculty members with a general interest in bioinformatics research and application.
  • Affiliate membership is extended to non-UGA collaborators and other scientists primarily affiliated with partner institutions, who have an interest in bioinformatics research and application.

Interested scientists are welcome to fill out the IOB application form for prompt consideration of membership, which is granted for a three-year term.
